The Fredericks in Dominica: SariSari to say goodbye

I saved the best waterfall for last. Or at least, SariSari is my favorite out of all the waterfalls I've seen here and I was so excited to show it to Sara and Chris. It is just down the road from Wavine Cyrique, and after that hike we all needed to take a little break before we attempted SariSari. So after we ate the picnic lunch of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and coconut cookies we began our second (and easier!) hike of the day.

The best part of the hike is feeling completely immersed in the rain forest.

Lots of stairs again in this hike, but is it better than ropes?

At some point the trail ends and you have to cross the river and try and find it again on the other side.

Only to find yourself crossing the river again.

So why not pose for a picture?

The trail ended yet again and we had to ford the river over and under boulders to get to out final destination. And the moment you turn the corner and see the waterfall really takes your breath away.

Our guide Victor insisted on being the photographer (even though Christina offered) and he forgot to put the wrist strap on and dropped in in the water, which would have been fine since it was in the water proof case, but it hit a rock really hard and the side cracked a little. I was really upset, but I wasn't going to let it ruin my waterfall.

Everyone from the hike.

The hike back always starts out refreshing because you're still feeling good from the cold water, and by the end you just want to sit in the bus and take a nap. It was so much fun to get out and show Sara and Chris two great hikes before they left.

All too soon we had to say goodbye, but we're so glad we got to show our island life to them!
