One year old

At one year,  Griffin is:

walking. About three weeks ago he started using it as his primary mode of transportation, and when he figured out how to stand up without pulling up on something he stopped crawling.

active. he loves throwing balls (well, he's not that picky about what he throws), he will roll a ball back and forth with you, and he can kick the soccer ball pretty well.

sweet. Griffin gives hugs and kisses, waves hi and bye, loves Sadie and chases after her to pat on her

babbling. mama, dada, ball, uh-oh, and next is Jonah - he's been working on something that sounds pretty close :)

a fish. We've has swim lessons twice a week for the past 10 weeks and Griffin is a natural. He loves to be in the water. He will blow bubbles, splash, and go under the water with me.

We're going to the doctor for a check-up tomorrow but I'm pretty sure this guy weighs 22 pounds! He is in 12 month clothes - hopefully they will fit all summer :)

update: Griffin's check up went perfectly! He does weigh 22 pounds (okay 21 and 15 oz ) but I was surprised that's only the 35th percentile. Everyone always says he's so big! He measured 28 inches (25th percentile) long.

Taco night

Quick! Before it gets too hot to do anything outside :)

Jonah loves eating on the deck. We've been having lunch outside pretty regularly.
 Griffin loves tacos!
Can you see why we needed haircuts?

First haircut

I hate getting the boy's haircut. They always look so much older afterwards!

May I share some photos?

I've been trying to remember to enjoy the weather as much as possible before it gets to hot. The boys and I walked over to the park for a picnic lunch the other day.

We went to Dallas for Harper's birthday at the arboretum.
Griffin got lots of practice walking around holding on to Grandaddy's hands. Jonah and Harper are starting to play together a little more.

Harper's birthday was the weekend of Mother's day so I got to spend it with my Mama. We had brunch and spent some time at the park before we had to head back to Shreveport.

Last weekend we drove down to Houston for a doctor's appointment and had fun swimming and playing with Uncle Grayson, Grandpa, and Cici.

11 months

Here's my big guy in his pjs this morning.
At 11 months, Griffin has perfected the 'scream until you get your way' technique and found it quite effective. He's still insisting on walking around holding on to my hands and as soon as he lets go, he collapses to the floor. Of course, since he screams until I give in and walk around with him a little more, he has no reason to walk on his own.
Plus he's a speedy crawler for times when he wants to get somewhere quickly. Like when we all walk out of a room and leave him sitting alone. Jonah didn't have to worry about either of those issues since our apartment was so tiny there was no room to walk him around, or leave him unattended.
Griffin has decided that he likes avacado but still doesn't like bananas. I can't think of anything else he just absolutely refuses and I wish it wasn't bananas - they are such an easy snack.

He absolutely loves swim lessons. Our friend Maureen teaches them and he loves splashing and blowing bubbles. He will even go under the water with me.

He has seven teeth now.

He is really babbling, with his favorite go-to sound being dada. He'll say mama, but not all the time. He'll wake up in the middle of the night and just jabber away.

He figured out how to point.

He loves to watch Jonah and has a knack for laughing at the wrong time (like when Jonah is hurt or in trouble).

Has a sweet laugh and loves to give hugs.

Will turn one year old in 28 days. Can you believe it!?!
