The Jokester

We've been practicing knock knock jokes.

Griffin won't let me video his version of a knock knock joke but its so cute I'm going to work really hard to be sneaky and film him.

Adventures of Pancake and Waffle

Jonah has a knack for nicknames. He's the reason Griffin has so many- Griff, Griffey, Griffykins the list goes on and I'm guilty of using them fairly often. Lately though Jonah has branched out into the world of rhyme (and pure silliness - no idea where he gets it from!)  and added Whiff and Piff to the mix. then whiff somehow morphed into waffle and it actually stuck for a few days. In fairness, since I started calling Griffin waffle too I nicknamed Jonah Pancake which he loved and pretty much all last week it was breakfast adventures with Pancake and Waffle. Just add syrup.
Waffle ready to ride (just kidding, he only sits on his balance bike for very short spurts)

Cannibalism! Pancake eating pancakes

Waffle wants to be just like Pancake

A Waffle peddling Pancake?

Waffle with one snowflake on his head - not impressed

Pancake trying to catch a flake on his tongue... It's harder than it looks

Our breakfast adventures may be coming to an end soon... I don't think I heard Jonah call Griffin 'Waffle' all day today.

Photo bomb!

Jonah accidentally discovered the joys of photo bombing on Sunday. Kristi and Seth were in town visiting for the weekend and Pake just happened to be in Shreveport with friends so we met up for Brunch. Attempting to make up for a whole weekend of constantly forgetting to take pictures, I insisted on one with my college roommates (has it really been 10 years!?!)
It was so fun to see them both :) they were the best college roommates!

And Jonah is obsessed with photo bombing now - and he has been practicing, too. It usually starts with "Mama, take a picture of Griffin."

Weekend snapshots

Jonah and Griffin entertaining themselves with soccer cones.

I love this shot where Griffin is looking up at Jonah - he really watches and imitates his big brother.

Eating an ice cream cone on Caddo Lake after lunch at Big Pines with Seth and Kristi. We had a lot of fun with them this weekend! (If only we had taken more pictures!)

Jonah's birthday card to himself

His birthday is 8 weeks away, but when you're almost 4 it's hard not to obsess. So he made himself a card styled after one my mom received at her party on Saturday. He was pretty disappointed when I didn't have a music insert on hand to make his card play happy birthday when he opens it.
He hasn't really shown an interest in drawing before so I was so excited to see him try. He drew a cake with four candles on a table with four balloons and himself, holding one of the balloon strings. Afterward we practiced making smily faces (on his request) because he didn't like the expression on this face.

Weekend in Caldwell

This weekend we went to my parent's house in Caldwell to celebrate my mom's 55th birthday.  It was a quick trip leaving after work on Friday and coming back Sunday afternoon, but the weather was great on Saturday and we had so much fun!

The boys love to ride the go-cart and four wheeler and see the horses. My parents are 'cow-sitting' and Griffin was obsessed with the cows. I really think he could have hung on to the gate and watched them for hours.

There were about 30 friends and family members who were able to come and it turned out to be a great party! Now if only I had taken more pictures :) but hey it's only January 6 and you've already seen 2 blog posts!!

Happy new year!

Justin had to work new year's eve, so I took the boys to the science center for their "countdown to noon" party.  We spent the morning checking out the exhibits and then welcomed in the new year with a balloon drop and a taste of sprite.

They may not look too impressed in the photos but watching 2014 balloons drop is pretty cool. They both brought home a balloon' andboth popped before the end of the day.

We had a membership all year to the science center and Jonah had his birthday party there in March. The boys love to go and I try to take them pretty often.

Cheers to a new year!
