Cookies!

Aunt Sara sent Jonah some cute fish cookie cutters that we tried out today. Jonah is a good helper in the kitchen, especially on Saturday mornings when we make pancakes, but this was our first time to roll and cut cookies. He had so much fun!

 Jonah's favorite shape was the shark and he spent equal amounts of time cutting cookies as he did spreading the flour around on the cutting board (and off the table onto the carpet).

He tried eating the cookie dough a few times (which explains the expression on my face!) and by the end he was covered in flour. We decided to cut our losses and get naked -he calls it 'nake' - which he thought was hilarious.

He was a good sport though and came back to the table for a finished product picture and took a single bite out of five or six different cookies before getting back down.

Trains!

This weekend Justin had a rare three days off IN A ROW (second time since July?) so we celebrated by getting out of the house and taking a trip out of town. We went to Pennsylvania to take Jonah for a ride on an old stream locomotive.

He was in heaven!

Even though the train station and museum weren't too far away we decided to make it an overnight trip and stayed at a great hotel with an indoor pool.

 We had such a great time with Jonah. He loved the waterslide and sprinklers. We can't wait for warmer weather so we can swim outside.

Construction trucks

Jonah loves construction trucks. Example: We went to the library last weekend and checked out the construction truck countdown book and read it a billion times. The next day he had memorized it. We were talking about it in the car and I would call out the number and pause for him to fill in the type of truck (10 mighty...dump trucks! 9... earthmovers!) and he remembered ALL 10. Obsessed. So when Grandpa and Cici sent "Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site" the other day he was in heaven! It is really one of the first books he is willing to sit and read by himself which I love because I get to hear him tell the story :)

23 weeks!

Surprise! A real belly picture for you :) Jonah finds it quite convinient to use as an arm rest and a pillow. I'm enjoying the second trimester - I feel pretty good and we've had great weather the last week. Jonah and I took Sadie to the park four days in a row and had a blast.
