Happy Thanksgiving!

We've been enjoying our long weekend with my parents. Aunt Suzie and Uncle Randy came for Thanksgiving day and we had a cozy feast in our little apartment. Sadly the aggies ruined the evening.

We took Jonah to the B&O Railroad museum and he loved it!
He had his first train ride down the "most historic mile of railway" in the US, which lulled him right to sleep. It didn't keep the adults from having a good time!

19 months

At 19 months Jonah:

likes to be silly. He is wearing Justin's slippers in the picture - he thought it was hilarious to put them on his feet.
is starting to talk more. His new words include hi, byebye, car and up. He will nod his head yes with one big nod. He refers to himself as "Na-na"

loves to play with his little people farm. He makes all the animals say hi to each other and makes them "eat" and "drink" and "kiss." It is fun to watch him play!

loves books about construction and bears. He makes the same "rawr" sound for bears and monsters.

is a snuggle bug! He gives us lots of hugs and kisses.

Pumpkin Picking

Jonah and I went pumpkin picking with my KD group. It was cold (50 degrees!) and misty, but we had fun and found a pumpkin to carve!

18 months

At 18 months Jonah:
is a climbing champ. The couch, chairs, stairs, ladders - he's and equal opportunity climber.
likes to Slide! It only took 18 months and a million trips to the park to get him to want to do it himself.

sits in a booster seat at home and out.

smiles on cue... or not!
Jonah has adjusted to some big changes this month. He started a new school when I went back to work. We are settling into a good routine and keeping busy!

Dallas

Jonah and I went to Dallas in July to meet this precious baby:

It was hard to wait 9 weeks to meet my cute niece Harper Ashley, and we spent the week snuggling while Sara went back to work.

The first weekend, my parents and Ross were in town so we had a mini reunion minus Justin (they call them residents for a reason!). While we were there, Jonah got his first professional haircut. He didn't really like it, but his Grandmama and Aunt Sara helped distract with a song and dance.

Jonah and Harper are going to be best cousins. Harper was nice and played along with every game Jonah suggested.

Of course our time in Dallas was over too soon. We can't wait to be closer next year!

16 months old

Justin and Jonah in their scrubs this morning after Justin's first night shift for the month.

At sixteen months, Jonah is finally smiling for the camera!
He loves books about animals and his little people farm.

He loves cars, trucks, and most of all trains.

He can throw a toy for Sadie, and holds her leash when we go outside.

He walks up the steps and slides down the slide by himself.

He hides his face when strangers say hi.

He says "bro" when something breaks or falls - that has been the most consistent word we've heard besides mama, dada, and uh-oh.

He can point to his eyes, ears, mouth, nose, toes, and head when asked.

He loves to eat scrambled eggs.
He laughs at things that are funny or different, like when Sadie tries to get a toy from under the couch.

Kristi and Seth's visit

Kristi and Seth came to visit us this weekend.

We ate lots of seafood - check out Seth's oysters! Jonah even decided he likes crab.
We went downtown to the harbor and did the touristy things. We even let Jonah get some energy out running through the splash fountain.

On Sunday we went to Linganore Winecellars and toured the winery. They had live music and we brought a picnic and enjoyed the nice weather.

We had a great time!

Justin

Last Sunday was Justin's birthday AND his second year to celebrate father's day. It was also Justin's last day to be a stay at home dad - he started orientation on Monday. Justin and Jonah played trains in the morning. We spent the day at his resident director's house picnicing with his new coworkers. I'm finding it hard to take as many pictures as I'd like when I'm chasing Jonah around, but we had a lot of fun and enoyed Justin's special day :)

Residency Reception - i could get used to this!

Okay so this photo may look familiar. The last time I wore this dress Justin and I were celebrating the end of his 2nd year of med school. Last night I wore it to a reception for resident at Harbor Hospital. We found a babysitter for Jonah and went downtown to a fancy hotel on Baltimore's inner harbor where we were wined and dined (open bar and steak dinner!) to celebrate the beginning of residency and the end of residency for other students.
Justin was formally introduced to everyone as Doctor Justin Skweres by the Resident Director :)
We met several other incoming residents and after dinner got to see how well everyone got along - on the dance floor! Here are a few of Justin's colleagues (and the directors too!) dancing. Unfortunately we didn't get a picture of me hopping on one foot (in my high heels!) with my hands in the air (light bulb!) dancing to a traditional Indian song - I got pulled out onto the dance floor and had to score some cool points for Justin :) I think I need to practice my moves before the Holiday reception!

I think Justin is really going to like working with these Doctors!

Jonah's first carousel ride

We spent last weekend in Pennsylvania visiting with Dad, Chris, and Grayson. On Friday we went to Hershey Park. Jonah loved the carousel! He went on a couple other rides, like the train which he tolerated, but the carousel was by far his favorite. He got to spend quality time with Grandpa, and Cici while we rode roller coasters with Grayson.

Our quick visit was extended when Dad was admitted to the hospital on Saturday, but we were glad to see more of Uncle Grayson and Cici (and Dad is doing better!).
