(Yes, I'm still blogging about our vacation in Texas...sheesh)
Not quite a week had passed, and the end was already looming before us. It was unstoppable; we were being sucked through time with the final destination growing more and more real in our minds: Dominica, for another 4 months. I was stressed. I know that is the opposite of what should happen on a vacation, but there are not enough hours in the day to make up for the 233 days we were gone. So in a whirlwind of activity, we crammed as much as we could into our remaining days in Texas. To hit the highlights:
1. Eat more barbecue! My parents hosted a barbecue, another great chance to see family and friends. It was perfect weather outside and we really enjoyed ourselves. Of course even when you have a whole afternoon to spend visiting, you never feel like you we able spend as much time as you'd like with each person. But we are so thankful that everyone came to see us!

2. Play Balderdash with the family. Aunt Judy won (by a landslide), but she had some great competition and we all had some great laughs!
3. Eat lots of ice cream and go shopping. We even fit in a movie with Ross!
4. Feed the horses. Hopefully when we come home next we'll get to ride on the new farm!

5. Enjoy the convenience of the drive-thru!

7. Eat more! With a delicious stop at my favorite tex-mex: Chuys!
8. Play with Sadie as much as possible!
9. Pack up the remains of my life at 4010 Fountainwood (from old barbie dolls to college text books) and say goodbye with the hope that it will sell quickly!
10. Make a last minute stop at wal-mart to pick up odds and ends (dental floss, brita water filters, new sunglasses, etc.) and we were on the road to Dallas where our vacation would come to an end.
If you are exhausted reading this imagine how we felt! And we still had 24 hours before our flight to San Juan! What better to do than eat?
11. (that's right, my count-up is not over) Eat at Uncle Julio's in Dallas. My brother-in-law Chris' family met us along with Aunt Mimi and Uncle Scott for another round of delicious tex-mex. At that point we had eaten barbecue or tex-mex for the past 7 meals! Yum!
12. You may think we're crazy, but our next stop was Kroger, for more ice cream. Have I mentioned that of the 10 days we were home we had ice cream at least 8 nights? And it was delicious each time! I'm glad I don't have a picture of the amount of ice cream I ate on our last night in Texas, I'm embarrassed to tell you I couldn't decide between flavors so I got both and ate it all!
13. Our final stop was a well hidden Schlotzsky's that we found thanks to a call to my Dad in Florida who got online and found it for us on the way to the airport. I shared mine with Sadie (mmm turkey bacon club!) as we slowly made our way through airport traffic. And then all too soon it was time to say goodbye.
Thanks to everyone for catering to our every need (which of course mostly revolved around food). We made it safely back to Dominica and moved into our new apartment. It is hard to believe we've been here for almost a whole month!
See you in 82 days!
