Remember Rachel from Dominica? All you have to do is look at pretty much any post from 2007-2008 to see all the amazing things we did together on the island. After 16 months of friendship that included island baking, sun bathing, cranking up the a/c to enjoy mint hot cocoa, and a mini-vacay to Tortola we also spent the summer of 2008 right here in Saginaw exploring mid-michigan's dog parks, health food stores, Ramada Inn nightlife, bowling and minigolf. How could you forget these precious moments?

Well that was a stroll down memory lane that seriously sidetracked the writing of this post by several hours... sigh...
After going through all of the above together you know you've made the kind of friendship that stands the test of time. 2 years worth of time in which I was east coast and she was gold coast. So in July Rachel's husband Brian just so happened to schedule a rotation in Saginaw at the same time Justin did. It was fate. Definitely meant to be. After 2 years of emails and phone calls we were reunited for a wonderful weekend where we saw each other 3 DAYS IN A ROW!
On a side note, Rachel looks wonderfully tan because she enjoys long runs out of doors while I am sadly pasty white. You won't even believe me when I tell you we didn't get a picture together. That just means that we can't let it be 2 more years before we reunite once again. Do you hear that Rachel?!?
Hooray for BFF reunions.

that is a wonderfully perfect post! wow, looking through those photos, which are just a teeny tiny fraction of the fun we had in dominica and saginaw together, makes me so very grateful for every second i've ever gotten to spend with you! you are an absolutely amazing person, mother and friend, evidenced by our 3 hour coffee shop conversation-turned-parking-lot-goodbye! and how in the world did we not get a picture together?! you're right; the next time we get together better be sooner than two years...i miss you already!
Glad you guys had so much fun! I love getting together with island friends. When is Justin doing a rotation at Mayo? He's applying for residency here, right?! :)
Julie - we're counting on Phillip to butter up the doctors on the application panel, it's too late to rotate there unless we have $8000 (which we don't, sadly)! I hope one of these days we'll find ourselves close enough to meet up!
