back to being a weekend blogger

Gone are the days of mid-week posts. Or frequent posts. I think I may be back to being a weekend blogger. This week was especially eventful for us - here's our week in review:

On Monday I started work again with a week of professional development to prepare for the new school year, which of course meant Jonah had his first week of day care. His "teacher" Ms. Tangela is very nice and Jonah must think so too, because went right to her each morning without a fuss. I think it was a huge shock to Jonah to be somewhere so stimulating and busy after spending the summer with just me, and he had a hard time letting himself sleep. Of course no naps meant I took home an exhausted baby every day! Here he is, ready for school. On Friday the center had "crazy hair day," but what was Jonah going to do with this fuzz - you can't make a mohawk OR alfalfa with that!

Then on Thursday, Christina and Andrew stopped by on their way to North Carolina. It was so good to see them! They stayed for dinner and we had a great visit catching up. We made it a point to take a picture together, but I just look exhausted - which was how I was feeling by the time I made it to Thursday night! And Jonah looks like he belongs to Christina with his light colored hair :)
On Friday, Jonah had his first babysitting experience. I went to book club and Jonah stayed at home with Lexi, who I know from my volunteering with the KD chapter at Towson University. She did a great job, and Jonah was able to keep his bedtime routine and schedule (which was why I didn't take him along), so I'd consider it a success. Babysitting has changed a lot since I was a teenager - but that may be grounds for a whole other post! So here we are on Saturday morning. Justin is coming home tomorrow and we are all very excited about that!
