I labeled us just in case you didn't realize where we currently are. If this was any other time in the semester, we'd be cheering it on. But right in the middle of everyone's finals? Not an opportune time for 75mph winds. I'm not nervous about our safety; we've got a concrete basement apt. and plenty of food, water, and Kubuli to survive through the storm. But if this sucker gets in the way of our vacation, I'm not going to be happy! So many students freaked out that they made the Final optional (not the smartest decision in my opinion) and allowed people to charter $650 helicopter rides out today (also not a decision I would endorse). It's been a panic attack on campus, and we're panicked about moving all our things! I'll do my best to keep everyone posted, until we lose power, that is. We should be in the hurricane at some point late tonight/early tomorrow, around 4am or so, and shouldn't get it too bad unless the high pressure system in the Atlantic dissipates. If that happens, then I'll really be glad for all these hurricane shutters we've been putting up for the past 2 days.
Adios from Hurricane Country!
