Quarter Century

Happy 25th Birthday, Justin!

What better way to celebrate than a homeade ice cream cake?

Weekend in Texas

It is so wonderful to be close enough to home to fly in for the weekend. Okay, maybe not a good as it would feel if we could drive home for the weekend, but we're counting our blessings (especially the one where we're given mega airline miles to use- thanks Daddy!). Last weekend Justin and I flew to College Station where we spent 48 hours with my parents on their farm in Caldwell. The reason? A super 50th birthday extravaganza bbq honoring my dad.

We got to meet Schuler, my parent's new German Shepard puppy who has the cutest floppy ears!

And we got to check out the improvements on the farm including the new workshop being built. Justin even got put to work building a fence.

Luckily, we were able to see Justin's mom and brother Friday night before Travis headed off to Europe for his sweet new job. And Justin's dad drove in for the fiesta on Saturday.

But the most exciting part was finding the rattlesnake near the back porch after the party (and in the dark!).

Okay, it was a pretty small rattlesnake, but still! You don't find those in Michigan... do you?

Celebrations!

Great news!!!
On Tuesday Justin and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary. To add to the festivities, we received the long-awaited (okay, it was 12 days later, but the wait was killing us!) Comp score. This is the exam that tests the past two years of study and essentially tells you how ready you are for the first board exam, the STEP1. I remember hearing about this test our first semester in Dominica and it has loomed over Justin's head from the start. And keeping with his track record, Justin did not disappoint. In fact the smarty pants scored a near perfect score and I'm so proud of him!
This opens a lot of doors for the future, so I'll keep you posted on what our plans are!
