1st ever Skweres-Fredericks Family Vacation
South Padre Island 2014
Where should we start? A last minute trip to Target to get a few car ride essentials like goldfish and gatorade. Jonah was so exhausted from his first week at school he slept in the cart the whole time. We were packed and loaded by the time Justin came home from work on Saturday morning and hit the road around noon.
Three hours later we were stopped at a sonic because 1. Jonah had an accident 2. Griffin threw up and 3. Everett was hungry. A two-day road trip off to an epic start but we were still smiling. The rest of the trip was happily uneventful. We stopped in Caldwell and met up with Sara to make the second half of the drive on Sunday.

We stopped for a lunch at Taqueria Guadalajara where a local retired game warden gave each of the kids one dollar.
It was a dollar well spent on a pack of skittles for each of them:)
We made it to the condo before dark and everyone was so excited to head out to the beach.
This view totally makes up for two days in the car, right?
Harper, Griffin, and Jonah excited about the beach for the first time.
For the next four days we kept pretty much the same routine - early breakfast, beach by 9, back to the condo for lunch & naps at 11:30, pool and then beach again, dinner at 8. Perfect.
Sara and Duncan in the water - he loved the ocean!
Griffin feeding the seagulls goldfish
Everett napping on his float at the pool
Sara, Duncan, and Harper considering a 5 pm power nap
Everett, me, and Griffin in the pool
Justin working during naptime :) gotta love paper work. but i mostly included this photo because you can see how nice the condo was.
Griffin was a super napper on vacation. At home he naps about an hour every day. At the beach it was closer to 2! Jonah and I played old maid, crazy 8s, and go fish during nap time.
Griffin relaxing on the balcony... naked
We had some cloud cover and a little rain from tropical storm Dolly one day so we showered and put on real clothes to check out dinner at Padre Island Brewery. The weather cleared up and we went for a nice walk on the beach that evening.
We all had such a wonderful time at the beach. The one thing I think we weren't able to get a picture of was Jonah on the boogie board. Let's just say he was a boogie boarding machine. The boy who doesn't like to put his head in the water was out catching waves and having a blast with salt water spraying in his face.
Make your own pizza night!
Taco night!
And before we knew it, it was time to come home. I sure had a wonderful vaction with my boys :) Can't wait to do it again next year!
