After a month of vacation, it is safe to say I'm already completely overwhelmed with the amount of blogging there is to be done. I hate to bore with excessive detail (listing every steak I ate or the number of Starbucks coffees ordered) but I hate to leave anything out (lists of every person we saw, every fruit I ate). So bear with me as I breeze through to first half of vacation with a top five.
1. Being reunited with Sadie! We miss her so much!

2. Being reunited with family! Justin and I spent a lot of our time in the car trying to see everyone. We were so lucky to visit with Sara and Chris in Dallas, my grandparents, Aunt Judy, and cousins in Austin, spend the weekend in Marshall with my other grandparents, have a family reunion in Longview, and my brother came home all the way from Salzburg.

3. Ride horses! Now that my parents are on the farm, it is a lot less of a hassle to ride. We rode bareback one afternoon and took them on a long ride across the property our last morning in Caldwell. I'm riding Chula in the picture.

4.Christmas Kitties! Ross' friend gave us two kittens for our barn (which has yet to exist). We named them Ziggy and Zoomba from the BGSU fight song.

5. Video games! Sara and Chris brought their Wii to the farm for Christmas and we had so much fun teaching my parents how to play on their new flat screen tv. Sadie enjoyed it too!

It was a great start to our vacation! Christmas was cozy; all seven of us (plus three dogs and two kittens) squeezed into the farmhouse. There wasn't room for a Christmas tree, but we made do with a perfectly trimmed rosemary bush (NOT pictured below). All too soon it came to an end, and we said goodbye on the anniversary of one year in Dominica.

Merry (late) Christmas!

Hey! It was great seeing you over christmas and I hope you're enjoying your last few months on the Island. Austria is great, it's really going to be hard to come home in July! I miss you, hope you can make it over here to visit...I can take you to an awesome place to ski in the Alps!
