My birthday

I'm "blessed" to have a birthday during a hectic time of year. It is tax time, TAKS test time, and for us this year, the week of finals. Justin had been studying non stop since his last test the Thursday before so we planned on waiting for the weeked after the test to celebrate. I spent my birthday morning at work, which was actually a lot of fun. We don't wear name tags at work, so the people I see and talk to every day don't know my name. My co-workers, Rachel and Leslie put up a banner that said "Happy Birthday Ashley" and a special birthday tip jar the night before. That meant everyone who came in asked "which one of you is Ashley?" and I'd say "that's me!" I've never been wished happy birthday so many times! It was also fun for everyone to learn my name! After work I went home and Justin took a study break and made me dinner.

Afterwards, Rachel and Leslie came over with a beautiful cake (made by Rachel) and Justin stayed long enough to sing Happy Birthday with the girls.

And then yesterday we had a little get together with the few friends left on the island (the day after the final, campus was completely deserted!). Everyone came over for dinner to celebrate my birthday since they were busy studying on the real day. Jen, Mike, Greg, and Robert (and Robert's friend Amber who is visiting this week) came over for chicken milanesa, mashed potatoes (I know, we splurged and they were delicious!), broccoli (frozen of course), home made rolls, and gravy.

Jen made me a cake and everyone sang again. It was nice :)

Thanks to everyone who sent a birthday message! Miss you all so much!
